How much does therapy cost, and do you accept insurance?
Costs vary depending on the type of service. Here is a list of the services we offer and the associated cost. We accept many major insurance plans and also offer self-pay options. Here is a list of the current insurances we accept. If you have any questions about insurance or paying for services please call or email us.
What services do you offer?
We offer a wide range of trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and holistic mental health services, including individual therapy, couples counseling, group therapy, therapy intensives, and workshops. Here is a list of the services we offer. Our team specializes in various therapeutic approaches to meet our clients' individualistic needs.
Do you off consultations?
We know how important it is to find the right therapist and wanting to meet before committing is understandable. At this time, we don't offer consultations before intake appointments.
Brief consultations often don’t give enough time to build the kind of rapport that matters in therapy, understand complex histories (including trauma, cultural or identity context, or safety concerns), explain therapeutic approach and how it would be used for your specific goals, or sort through practical details like scheduling, insurance/payment, and practice policies.
Instead, the intake appointment itself is the time for you and your therapist to explore whether working together feels like a good fit. During intake you’ll have a fuller, private session where your clinician can hear more about what brought you to therapy, discuss treatment approach, and together you can decide whether to continue. There is never any pressure to continue if it does not feel right for you. You are always welcome to schedule with another therapist in our practice or request referrals to other therapy practices that may better meet your needs.
What does “trauma-informed”, “anti-oppressive”, and "culturally attuned" care mean?
Trauma-informed care recognizes the impact of trauma on mental health and emphasizes safety, trust, and empowerment in every session. Anti-oppressive care acknowledges systemic barriers and power dynamics, striving to create an inclusive, affirming environment that respects your unique experiences and identities. Our diverse team is also dedicated to providing culturally attuned care. We understand the importance of your cultural, racial, spiritual, and personal identities and integrate these into your treatment in a respectful and supportive manner.
What can I expect during my first appointment?
Your first session is an opportunity to get to know your therapist and share your goals for therapy. You’ll discuss your history, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve. Together, you and your therapist will create a plan tailored to your needs. Schedule an appointment to get started.
Do you offer virtual or in person sessions?
We only offer virtual therapy sessions at this time.
How can I cancel my appointment?
We understand that life happens! Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You can call, email, or use the online portal to cancel your appointment. Missed appointments or late cancellations will result in a $75 no show/late cancellation fee (not just the co-pay). We do recognize that unexpected circumstances can arise, and we may waive this fee in emergency situations on a case-by-case basis. For additional information, please review the cancellation policy included in your paperwork.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can benefit anyone seeking support, personal growth, or strategies to cope with life’s challenges. Whether you're navigating a tough time or working toward specific goals, our compassionate clinicians are here to guide you in a judgment-free, collaborative space. Schedule an intake appointment to discuss more.
Can I request a specific therapist?
Absolutely. If you have preferences regarding your therapist’s background, specialties, or approach, let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
How long does therapy last?
The length of therapy varies for each individual. Some clients work on short-term goals, while others engage in long-term therapy for deeper exploration and growth. You and your therapist will regularly review your progress to determine the best course of action.
Do you prescribe medication?
We do not have prescribers on our team at this time.
What is a cost estimate/"Good Faith Estimate"?
Cost estimates are provided to prospective clients before they begin services. Under the Public Health Service Act, as a therapy client, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health services will cost. Specifically, health care providers need to give prospective clients who either don’t have insurance or are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for services.
I don't live in Massachusetts, can I still meet with someone?
For psychotherapy services provided to individuals within the United States, you must be physically located in the state that your therapist is licensed to practice. Our team is only licensed to practice in MA.
